What is TI-RADS?

The exact management depends on the classification system being used, the nodule size and the clinical context.
Does a TI-RADS 2 nodule need surgery?
A benign-appearing nodule classified as TI-RADS 2 generally does not require surgery solely because it is present.
However, management should always consider the complete clinical and ultrasound picture. Follow-up recommendations may vary depending on the circumstances.
Does every thyroid nodule need FNAC?
No. Fine-needle aspiration cytology (FNAC) is generally recommended only when the nodule meets appropriate risk and size criteria or when other clinical features make tissue diagnosis necessary.
